Great location with water view

The sea front location offers stunning views, and the staff exemplify kindness and attentiveness, making for a pleasant atmosphere. Although the single room was functional, the lack of a view detracted slightly from the experience. The food in the bar was hearty and reasonably priced, complemented by excellent homemade cakes.

Had a great time with friends at this spot! We visited the local harbor and explored the nearby islands. The staff were super friendly, and the room was clean with fresh towels every day.

We did have some trouble with the dining service. Our dessert was forgotten, and the wait was frustrating despite good food quality overall.

Enjoyed a peaceful four-night stay in a harbor view room. Loved the fresh pastries at breakfast and the friendly staff who promptly fixed the shower issue. The breathtaking view of the harbor made it worth the slight noise from the street. Perfect for a relaxing getaway!

The St Ola Hotel has a fantastic view of the harbor, which I really enjoyed from my room. The location is perfect for exploring Kirkwall and for catching ferries to the nearby islands. The staff were friendly and offered loads of helpful tips about what to see in the area. The room was spacious and comfortable, though a little dated. I found some of the furniture a bit old-fashioned, but it was still well-kept. Breakfast was a highlight with lots of options, and I loved the full Scottish breakfast. the bar area felt a bit soulless and could use some warmth. Noise from the taxi rank across the road can be quite intrusive at night, especially on weekends, which impacted my sleep. the Wi-Fi was somewhat unreliable during my stay. While I had a pleasant experience overall, addressing the noise and upgrading the bar ambiance would make a big difference.

Lovely harbour views

We enjoyed our stay here! The harbour view from our room was just stunning. The bed was super comfy, and we had good seating for relaxing. Could use a little more space in the shower though. Breakfast was okay, just nothing to write home about. a nice place to kick back and explore Orkney!

The Standard Twin Room was clean and comfortable, perfect for relaxing after long days exploring. The location right opposite the harbor made it easy to enjoy the views and was convenient for catching ferries. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome throughout our stay.

Friendly staff and great location

I had a pleasant stay here, with friendly and welcoming staff who went out of their way to assist. The location was perfect, just a short walk to the shops and with scenic views over the bay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, although I found my single room a bit small for longer stays. On the downside, the food could have offered more variety.
